CCCC 132. Che cosa rappresenta l'Ascensione?

Dopo quaranta giorni da quando si era mostrato agli Apostoli sotto i tratti di un'umanità ordinaria, che velavano la sua gloria di Risorto, Cristo sale al cielo e siede alla destra del Padre. Egli è il Signore che regna ormai con la sua umanità nella gloria eterna di Figlio di Dio e intercede incessantemente in nostro favore presso il Padre. Ci manda il suo Spirito e ci dà la speranza di raggiungerlo un giorno, avendoci preparato un posto.

Après quarante jours pendant lesquels il s’est manifesté à ses Apôtres sous les traits d’une humanité ordinaire qui voilaient sa gloire de Ressuscité, le Christ est monté au ciel et s’est assis à la droite du Père. Il est le Seigneur qui règne désormais avec son humanité dans la gloire éternelle de Fils de Dieu et qui sans cesse intercède en notre faveur auprès du Père. Il envoie son Esprit et nous donne l’espérance de le rejoindre un jour, là où il nous a préparé une place.

After forty days during which Jesus showed himself to the apostles with ordinary human features which veiled his glory as the Risen One, Christ ascended into heaven and was seated at the right hand of the Father. He is the Lord who now in his humanity reigns in the everlasting glory of the Son of God and constantly intercedes for us before the Father. He sends us his Spirit and he gives us the hope of one day reaching the place he has prepared for us.
