CCCC 106. Che cosa rivelano le tentazioni di Gesù nel deserto?

Le tentazioni di Gesù nel deserto ricapitolano quella di Adamo nel paradiso e quelle d'Israele nel deserto. Satana tenta Gesù nella sua obbedienza alla missione affidatagli dal Padre. Cristo, nuovo Adamo, resiste e la sua vittoria annuncia quella della sua passione, suprema obbedienza del suo amore filiale. La Chiesa si unisce a questo Mistero in particolare nel tempo liturgico della Quaresima.

Les tentations de Jésus au désert récapitulent celle d’Adam au paradis et celles d’Israël dans le désert. Satan tente Jésus dans son obéissance à la mission confiée par son Père. Le Christ, nouvel Adam, résiste et sa victoire annonce celle de la passion, obéissance suprême de son amour filial. L’Église s’unit à ce Mystère tout particulièrement dans le temps liturgique du Carême.

The temptations of Jesus in the desert recapitulate the temptation of Adam in Paradise and the temptations of Israel in the desert. Satan tempts Jesus in regard to his obedience to the mission given him by the Father. Christ, the new Adam, resists and his victory proclaims that of his passion which is the supreme obedience of his filial love. The Church unites herself to this mystery in a special way in the liturgical season of Lent.
