CCCC 435. Come Gesù interpreta la Legge?

Gesù la interpreta alla luce del duplice e unico Comandamento della carità, pienezza della Legge: «Amerai il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore, con tutta la tua anima e con tutta la tua mente. Questo è il più grande e il primo dei Comandamenti. E il secondo è simile al primo: Amerai il prossimo tuo come te stesso. Da questi due Comandamenti dipende tutta la Legge e i Profeti» (Mt 22,37-40).

Jésus l’interprète à la lumière du double et unique commandement de la charité, qui est la plénitude de la Loi : « Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme et de tout ton esprit. C’est le plus grand et le premier des commandements. Et le second lui est semblable : tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même. Ces deux commandements contiennent toute la Loi et les Prophètes » (Mt 22,37-40).

Jesus interpreted the Law in the light of the twofold yet single commandment of love, the fullness of the Law: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it: you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40).
