120. Come si esprime nell'ultima Cena l'offerta di Gesù?

Nell'ultima Cena con gli Apostoli alla vigilia della Passione Gesù anticipa, cioè significa e realizza in anticipo l'offerta volontaria di se stesso: «Questo è il mio corpo che è dato per voi» (Lc 22,19), «questo è il mio sangue, che è versato...» (Mt 26,28). Egli istituisce così al tempo stesso l'Eucaristia come «memoriale» (1 Cor 11,25) del suo sacrificio, e i suoi Apostoli come sacerdoti della nuova Alleanza.

Au cours de la dernière Cène avec ses Apôtres, la veille de sa passion, Jésus anticipe, c’est-à-dire signifie et réalise par avance, l’offrande volontaire de lui-même : « Ceci est mon corps livré pour vous » (Lc 22,19), « Ceci est mon sang répandu… » (Mt 26,28). Ainsi, il a institué en même temps l’Eucharistie comme « mémorial » (cf. 1 Co 11,25) de son sacrifice et ses Apôtres comme prêtres de la nouvelle Alliance.

At the Last Supper with his apostles on the eve of his passion Jesus anticipated, that is, both symbolized his free self-offering and made it really present: “This is my Body which is given for you” (Luke 22:19), “This is my Blood which is poured out...” (Matthew 26:28) Thus he both instituted the Eucharist as the “memorial” (1 Corinthians 11:25) of his sacrifice and instituted his apostles as priests of the new covenant.
