CCCC 102. Quali sono state le preparazioni ai Misteri di Gesù?

Vi è anzitutto una lunga speranza durata per molti secoli, che noi riviviamo durante la celebrazione liturgica del tempo dell'Avvento. Oltre all'oscura attesa che ha posto nel cuore dei pagani, Dio ha preparato la venuta del suo Figlio tramite l'Antica Alleanza, fino a Giovanni Battista che è l'ultimo e il più grande dei profeti.

Avant tout, il y eut durant de nombreux siècles une longue espérance, que nous revivons pendant la célébration liturgique du temps de l’Avent. Outre l’attente obscure qu’il a établie dans le cœur des païens, Dieu a préparé la venue de son Fils à travers l’Ancienne Alliance, jusqu’à Jean-Baptiste, qui est le dernier et le plus grand des prophètes.


CCCC 102. How did God prepare the world for the mystery of Christ?
CCC 522-524
God prepared for the coming of his Son over the centuries. He awakened in the hearts of the pagans a dim expectation of this coming and he prepared for it specifically through the Old Testament, culminating with John the Baptist who was the last and greatest of the prophets. We relive this long period of expectancy in the annual liturgical celebration of the season of Advent.
