CCCC 338. Per quali fini Dio ha istituito il Matrimonio?

L'unione matrimoniale dell'uomo e della donna, fondata e strutturata con leggi proprie dal Creatore, per sua natura è ordinata alla comunione e al bene dei coniugi e alla generazione ed educazione dei figli. L'unione matrimoniale, secondo l'originario disegno divino, è indissolubile, come afferma Gesù Cristo: «Quello che Dio ha congiunto, l'uomo non lo separi» (Mc 10,9).

L’union matrimoniale de l’homme et de la femme, fondée et structurée par les lois du Créateur, est ordonnée par nature à la communion et au bien des conjoints, à la génération et à l’éducation des enfants. Selon le plan originel de Dieu, l’union matrimoniale est indissoluble, comme Jésus Christ l’a affirmé : « Ce que Dieu a uni, que l’homme ne le sépare pas » (Mc 10,9).

The marital union of man and woman, which is founded and endowed with its own proper laws by the Creator, is by its very nature ordered to the communion and good of the couple and to the generation and education of children. According to the original divine plan this conjugal union is indissoluble, as Jesus Christ affirmed: “What God has joined together, let no man put asunder” (Mark 10:9).
