CCCC 286. Quale tipo di culto è dovuto al Sacramento dell'Euca-ristia?

È dovuto il culto di latria, cioè di adorazione, riservato solo a Dio sia durante la celebrazione eucaristica sia al di fuori di essa. La Chiesa, infatti, conserva con la massima diligenza le Ostie consacrate, le porta agli infermi e ad altre persone impossibilitate a partecipare alla Santa Messa, le presenta alla solenne adorazione dei fedeli, le porta in processione e invita alla frequente visita e adorazione del Santissimo Sacramento conservato nel tabernacolo.

C’est le culte de latrie, c’est-à-dire l’adoration réservée à Dieu seul, soit durant la célébration eucharistique, soit en dehors d’elle. L’Église conserve en effet avec le plus grand soin les hosties consacrées; elle les porte aux malades et aux personnes qui sont dans l’impossibilité de participer à la Messe. Elle présente l’hostie à l’adoration solennelle des fidèles, la porte en procession, et elle invite à la visite fréquente et à l’adoration du Saint-Sacrement, conservé dans le tabernacle.

The worship due to the sacrament of the Eucharist, whether during the celebration of the Mass or outside it, is the worship of latria, that is, the adoration given to God alone. The Church guards with the greatest care Hosts that have been consecrated. She brings them to the sick and to other persons who find it impossible to participate at Mass. She also presents them for the solemn adoration of the faithful and she bears them in processions. The Church encourages the faithful to make frequent visits to adore the Blessed Sacrament reserved in the tabernacle.
