CCCC 557. Qual è l'importanza della Tradizione in rapporto alla preghiera?

Nella Chiesa è attraverso la Tradizione vivente che lo Spirito Santo insegna a pregare ai figli di Dio. Infatti, la preghiera non si riduce allo spontaneo manifestarsi di un impulso interiore, ma implica contemplazione, studio e comprensione delle realtà spirituali di cui si fa esperienza.

Dans l’Église, c’est à travers la Tradition vivante que l’Esprit Saint apprend à prier aux enfants de Dieu. En effet, la prière ne se réduit pas au jaillissement spontané d’une impulsion intérieure, mais elle implique la contemplation, l’étude et la pénétration profonde des réalités spirituelles dont on fait l’expérience.

In the Church it is through living Tradition that the Holy Spirit teaches the children of God how to pray. In fact prayer cannot be reduced to the spontaneous outpouring of an interior impulse; rather it implies contemplation, study and a grasp of the spiritual realities one experiences.
