CCCC 145. Che cosa fa lo Spirito nella Chiesa?

Lo Spirito edifica, anima e santifica la Chiesa: Spirito d'Amore, egli ridona ai battezzati la somiglianza divina perduta a causa del peccato e li fa vivere in Cristo, della Vita stessa della Trinità Santa. Li manda a testimoniare la Verità di Cristo e li organizza nelle loro mutue funzioni, affinché tutti portino «il frutto dello Spirito» (Gal 5,22).

L’Esprit édifie, anime et sanctifie l’Église. Esprit d’amour, il restaure chez les baptisés la ressemblance divine perdue à cause du péché et il les fait vivre dans le Christ de la Vie même de la Sainte Trinité. Il les envoie témoigner de la Vérité du Christ et il les établit dans leurs fonctions réciproques, afin que tous portent « le fruit de l’Esprit » (Ga 5,22).

The Spirit builds, animates and sanctifies the Church. As the Spirit of Love, he restores to the baptized the divine likeness that was lost through sin and causes them to live in Christ the very life of the Holy Trinity. He sends them forth to bear witness to the Truth of Christ and he organizes them in their respective functions so that all might bear “the fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22).
