Sono formule articolate, chiamate anche «Professioni di fede» o «Credo», con cui la Chiesa, fin dalle sue origini, ha espresso sinteticamente e trasmesso la propria fede con un linguaggio normativa, comune a tutti i fedeli.

Ce sont des énoncés organiques, appelés encore « professions de foi » ou « Credo », par lesquels l’Église, depuis ses origines, a exprimé de manière synthétique et transmis sa foi dans un langage normatif et commun à tous les fidèles.

The symbols of faith are composite formulas, also called “professions of faith” or “Creeds”, with which the Church from her very beginning has set forth synthetically and handed on her own faith in a language that is normative and common to all the faithful.
