CCCC 26. Quali sono nella Sacra Scrittura i principali testimoni di obbedienza della fede?

Ci sono molti testimoni, in particolare due: Abramo, che, messo alla prova, «ebbe fede in Dio» (Rm 4,3) e sempre obbedì alla sua chiamata, e, per questo è diventato « padre di tutti quelli che credono» (Rm 4, 11,18); e la Vergine Maria, che realizzò nel modo più perfetto, durante tutta la sua vita, l'obbedienza della fede: «Fiat mihi secundum Verbum tuum - Avvenga di me quello che hai detto» (Lc 1,38).

Il y a de nombreux témoins, et particulièrement deux : Abraham qui, mis à l’épreuve, « eut foi en Dieu » (Rm 4,3) et qui a toujours obéi à son appel; c’est pourquoi il est devenu « le père de tous ceux qui croiraient » (cf. Rm 4,11.18); et la Vierge Marie qui, pendant toute sa vie, a réalisé de la façon la plus parfaite l’obéissance de la foi : « Fiat mihi secundum Verbum tuum – Qu’il me soit fait selon ta Parole » (Lc 1,38).

CCCC 26. Who are the principal witnesses of the obedience of faith in the Sacred Scriptures?

There are many such witnesses, two in particular: One is Abraham who when put to the test “believed in God” (Romans 4:3) and always obeyed his call. For this reason he is called “the Father of all who believe” (Romans 4:11-18). The other is the Virgin Mary who, throughout her entire life, embodied in a perfect way the obedience of faith: “Let it be done to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38).
