CCCC 19. Come leggere la Sacra Scrittura?

La Sacra Scrittura deve essere letta e interpretata con l'aiuto dello Spirito Santo e sotto la guida del Magistero della Chiesa, secondo tre criteri: 1) attenzione al contenuto e all'unità di tutta la Scrittura; 2) lettura della Scrittura nella Tradizione viva della Chiesa; 3) rispetto dell'analogia della fede, cioè della coesione delle verità della fede tra di loro.

La Sainte Écriture doit être lue et interprétée avec l’aide de l’Esprit Saint et sous la conduite du Magistère de l’Église, selon trois critères : 1) attention au contenu et à l’unité de toute l’Écriture, 2) lecture de l’Écriture dans la Tradition vivante de l’Église, 3) respect de l’analogie de la foi, c’est-à-dire de la cohésion harmonieuse des vérités de la foi entre elles.

CCCC 19. How is Sacred Scripture to be read?

Sacred Scripture must be read and interpreted with the help of the Holy Spirit and under the guidance of the Magisterium of the Church according to three criteria: 1) it must be read with attention to the content and unity of the whole of Scripture; 2) it must be read within the living Tradition of the Church; 3) it must be read with attention to the analogy of faith, that is, the inner harmony which exists among the truths of the faith themselves.
