About Our InetCompu (or GridCompu)     [ ÇÑ±Û ¼³¸í ]

1. Our Concept and Terminology
If a person, for instance, using PC, PDA, or Mobile Phone, can perform the kinds of computations he wants on a remote Server, where he is not even required to have his own account, and is also allowed to get back the computed results immediately, then we call such a service, InetCompu (Internet Computing, Copyrighted) or GridCompu (Grid Computing, Copyrighted).

2. What we have done so far
Several years ago, Prof. Sun T. Soh in Department of Mathematics, Myong Ji University, Rep. of Korea, figured out a practical method to actually realize the needed Software Interface (called General Purpose Grid Middleware Interface) for such an InetCompu Service, and he finished the development of the first primitive but working version of the Inferface at around August 16, 2001. Later on, the Interface for InetCompu was significantly upgraded by him to such a degree that it can handle the in-comming data more neatly and smartly. The final version currently in usage had also passed a rigorous local fields test successfully.

As of August 28, 2001, we began to provide an InetCompu Service, i.e. whoever sends to a particular e-mail address at our Server an e-mail, for example, containing either (i) an input data for an application program in our Server for a certain mathematical formula (for instance, input: n=1234567 to numbpart@trinitas.mju.ac.kr in plain text format (cf. intro2numbpart.html) or (ii) his own program, for instance, written in Reduce commands (cf. intro2InetReduce.html), he will soon receive the computed results from our Server. This means that we have established and secured the needed basic Protocol-related Problems for our InetCompu.

3. Announcements
If you have your own program for a specific purpose such as numbpart, you may contribute yours to our InetCompu Service Engine for those who need it. Or if you are in charge of Super Computing Center and would like to participate our InetCompu Service from your High Performance Server by providing the same kind of services as we are doing from ours, through our "General Purpose Grid Middleware Interface" installed in your Server, you are strongly encouraged to do so. In either cases, please contact our Center for further information on such Services.
